Morrigan's Introduction (Morrigan)

     As Jedah left to begin the mission for which he had been revived, the Shintai he had left behind began to build its world, but like the Shintai itself, this world was unstable and fragile; a world of dreams that called inside the souls it so desperately needed to sustain itself.

     Morrigan had not been bored in a long time for once. Between the death of Belial, the annoying aftermath of her being chosen as the next in line for the throne of the Aensland clan, and Demitri's self-proclaimed takeover of the Demon World, things had been interesting as of late.

     It was ironically as she and Demitri had just squared off to fight what may have been their final battle that their castles had vanished, and they along with them. When Morrigan came to her senses after the dizzying journey, she was alone. She immediately noticed that the land around her was bleak and desolate, just like home, but the energies beyond were all different, and somewhere in the darkness, something familiar but unrecognizable called to her...

Morrigan stirred, her eyes sizing up her surroundings in a single sweep. Demitri was nowhere in sight, as was to be expected, and her castle...It was gone. She eyed the sky a bit reproachfully then, watching how the darkness shrouded everything; her eyes narrowed. It wasn't often she had her energy pulled on disturbed like that. She turned towards it, listening closely to the subtle innate sounds a normal human could never possibly detect.

Whatever that is whoever that is better have a damn good reason for--

She stopped mid-thought, the pulsating energy drawing on her even more so, alluring her. She wasn't sure which annoyed her more: the fact that it had the audacity to beckon her, or the fact that it hadn't revealed itself. She could feel the corner of her lips kick up a bit in a smile; she was certain this would be entertaining at best.

There were a great many energies, but two in particular stood out to her.

Demitri. So he was here; the self-proclaimed Prince of Darkness had had the audacity to attack her in her castle, slaughtering several of her most trusted servants. He had gone too far in his quest to conquer Makai. He had become a killing machine, obsessed with vengeance, and a danger to the Demon World itself.

The other presence, Morrigan couldn't identify; only that it was strangely familiar, its aura akin to looking into a mirror. Softly, she heard the voice of a young girl in her mind.

"I want to go home."

She ignored the voice that so often had gotten her into trouble as a child. That voice that was dependent on security, warmth, and light, but she didn't depend on that now; she couldn't. The world was far too dark now, and Demitri, the one she had actually come to...love had betrayed her.

If she'd been leaning on that voice within, she would've cried, but no tears escaped her now; only anger burned through her veins as she clenched her fists to either of her sides, and began to run, her boots cutting into the soil, and then she took to the air. She recalled the training her father had given her as a young girl...

Daddy, I want to take this off now! Her father had blindfolded her, and had told her to be patient, so she did the best she could to sit still. And then finally he had ripped the blindfold away, and she took in the beautiful sight of Makai, her father's kingdom, her kingdom. He then quickly turned her around, her back facing the beautiful scene, handing her a drawing pad and a pencil.

Now draw it. He told her. He had also told her in battle, one would only have a split second to observe and memorize their surroundings. She'd had her kingdom memorized, every inch of it, every energy signature, every fluctuation in temperature...This was wrong, it was wrong and she knew it, and love or not...Demitri was going to pay.

Demitri was far away, in his own personal hell. It was a volcanic hell of the classic variety - indeed, it resembled The Gate that lead to the human world - and the lord of the Maximoff clan could be found flaring his diabolical aura and roaring with rage.

Maximoff was pissed. At the moment he'd finally had Morrigan in his sights, something had intervened, and now he found himself in this desolate place.

"I will have her!," he thundered, "Just as I will have her father's kingdom! Nothing will stop me; not even this!"

She cut through the night like a knife, the sheer rawness of her anger shimmering iridescently off of her sparkling skin. And it was gently pulsing with every pounding beat of her heart, her emerald eyes that of slits as she continued to size up her surroundings.

She didn't see Demitri anywhere in sight, but she could feel him. She was getting closer, she knew that, and then suddenly she saw his glow, she was so angry. She hadn't been this angry in a long time. Usually being angry was a dangerous thing where she was concerned, a very dangerous thing.

"Demitri, you son of a bitch!" She cursed. She knew her words needn't have any volume to get through to him, but she had a feeling her actions were going to speak louder and she got just within range...

Outstretching a hand that brimmed with magical power, Demitri unleashed a torrent of violent words in the demonic tongue, casting a spell over her, "Beauty, you have, but mine is the greatest power of all, and without your power, you will be helpless against me."

She could feel her wings painfully sinking back into her skin since she resisted so much, the same with her headwings, and once she'd lost the aerodynamics that purported her she soon hit the ground below with a sickening thud. Maybe he really had lost his mind? She felt like she'd been hit by a truck, and rightfully so. She didn't groan or make a single sound to indicate what he'd done hurt her, she was far stronger than that. If anything was really hurt it was her pride.

He'd destroyed her kingdom...She wasn't going to give in that easily.
